Description

Tockay GekkkoSOL Thinner is a silicate-based mineral thinner specially formulated for paints and coatings in the GekkkoSOL range. It helps adjust product consistency and facilitate application.

It is also essential for preparing Tockay natural dry pigments before adding them to GekkkoSOL paints. The pigments are first mixed with a small amount of thinner until a smooth, lump-free mixture is obtained. This preparation promotes even pigment distribution and a consistent result that accurately reflects the desired colour.

USE

GekkkoSOL Thinner is intended exclusively for use with GekkkoSOL paints. The paint may be

thinned with up to 10% thinner to achieve a consistency similar to cream (neither as thick as a paste nor as fluid as water).

On highly absorbent surfaces, such as lime-based cement renders or plasters, it is recommended to first apply a casein primer and then dilute the GekkkoSOL paint with approximately 10% GekkkoSOL Thinner.

GekkkoSOL Thinner also serves as the required medium for preparing TOCKAY natural dry

pigments before incorporation into the paint. To do this, mix the pigments with approximately 1 to 1.5 parts thinner to 1 part pigment, depending on the fineness of the pigment, until a paste is obtained that is completely homogeneous, smooth, and free of lumps.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean with water immediately after use.

 

NOTES

  • Wear safety glasses and gloves.
    In case of skin or eye contact, wash with plenty of water. Seek medical attention if symptoms persist, especially if eye contact occurs.
  • Protect surfaces that are not to be treated.
  • Splashes may create irreversible stains.
