Description

Tockay Smooth Lime Paint in powder form is the powdered version of our Smooth Lime Paint, a tried-and-tested product we have offered for over 20 years. It provides a mineral, matte finish that is resistant to wiping. Formulated with lime and marble powder, without synthetic resin binders or titanium white, it offers excellent breathability and the naturally alkaline properties of lime, making it particularly well suited for humid areas such as bathrooms and kitchens.

Supplied as a powder to be mixed with water, it allows the water to be added directly at the project site rather than transported with the product. Lighter to ship and not susceptible to freezing during transport, it is particularly well suited for long-distance shipping and Canadian winter conditions. One 10 kg bag covers approximately 1,175 sq. ft. per coat.

Application

When using the product, the complete product information must be observed.

Mix the powdered paint with the recommended amount of water until a smooth, uniform consistency is achieved. Let the mixture rest for at least 30 minutes, then mix again before application.

Apply 2 coats, allowing the first coat to dry completely before applying the next. For tinted paints, application with a brush using criss-cross strokes is recommended to achieve the naturally nuanced appearance characteristic of lime paint. Untinted white paint can also be applied with a roller on a slightly absorbent surface; a preliminary test is recommended.

All natural, non-toxic and free of petroleum-based chemicals, our pigments are packaged in powder form and are easily mixed with water and then incorporated into the paint or plaster according to a precise recipe. For GekkkoSOL silicate-based paints, use GekkkoSOL thinner to dilute the pigments.

  • Ultramarine pigments should be used within 12 hours of preparation when mixed with a lime-based product
